The 2015 Fix-A-Home Project Recipient was Ms. Jewel Francis! Ms. Jewel has deep roots in the Northside Neighborhood. At one time her family owned much of the property that surrounds her current home. The house was built for her parents in 1974 by HUD on what was her grandparents’ garden plot. As an adult, Ms. Jewel moved in to help her aging parents and she eventually inherited the home. Ms. Jewel shares her home with her Godchild Anita Wilson and Anita’s two children, 9 year old Lillie-Marie and 8 year old Elijah. Both children attend Northside Elementary which is right around the corner. See photos of the Project Volunteers in action and Before & After photos.
